I have written and re-written this blog post countless times over the last week and a bit because I struggle to find the right words.
This wedding was close to my heart because the Bride is someone I consider to be one of my very close friends; so it's only natural I want it to be more perfecter (I made that word up) than perfect.
So, because I am not a writer and prefer to tell stories visually, I have decided to keep my words somewhat brief, and the photos plentiful.
Melanie and I have been friends for quite some time now. Since 2011 to be exact. We met via our kids who started at the same school together and quickly became besties (which they still are, 8 years later). Although we don't get to "hang out" often, I consider Mel to be one of my closest and best friends.
Brenden I have known for only a few years, but I honestly couldn't wish for a more perfect partner in crime for Mel. He is as kind and caring as she is, laid back just like she is but also has a funny smart-ass side...just like Mel does - (although Melanie is a lot funnier...and prettier...sorry Brenden).
So, when talks of an engagement and eventual wedding started working their way into conversation, it wasn't exactly a huge surprise.
However, what WAS a surprise was how they managed to pull everything together so darn perfectly in a matter of months (I credit mostly Melanie for this one, because she is also the creative one...sorry again Brenden)! I'm sure if I tried to plan a wedding, it would take me 6 months to choose a dress and then another 6 months wondering if I should have bought 'the other one' instead.
Melanie and Brenden were married on the 19th January 2019, the 50th day of Summer; and let me just say...I am sure they had a crystal ball when choosing this date, because despite having sweltering temperatures leading up to it, and horrendously hot days following, their day was a perfect 27 degrees, with clear skies and no rain (although there was some slight complaining about the heat coming from the men, all dressed up in their tuxes, which I totally don't blame them for!). Due to this, I am convinced that one of them is psychic (probably Brenden, because I need to credit him for something, and I read that red-heads have genetic super-powers...sorry Melanie).
Every single thing about this day was perfect. Just like my friends, Melanie and Brenden.
